Wednesday, April 19, 2006; Day 1
TLW be able to say what they are wearing including colors.
1) Do ser/estar test corrections. (25 min)
2) When done with test, begin writing down clothing vocabulary (on LCD projector). Discuss as a class. (20 min - 45)
3) Have students express three things that they are wearing. Include color of the items. All students say lines. (15 min - 1:00)
4) Text act. 1, 3, 4 pgs 186-7. (15 min - 1:15)
5) Assign PW 6-1, 6-2. Flash cards are due Tuesday.
Thursday, April 20, 2006; Day 2
TLW be able to say what they are wearing, including colors.
1) Students need to look around room at what other students are wearing. Will randomly call on two students, first one is a model, second states three things model is wearing including the main colors. (25 min)
2) Trade and grade PW 6-1, 6-2 (15 min - 40)
3) Write “este, esta, estos, estas” on board. Words mean “this, these” Use with nouns. Place in front of noun, must agree in gender and number.
this shirt - esta camisa this sweater - este suéter
these pants - estos pantalones these skirts - estas blusas
You will make clothing catalogs. you need 6 articles of clothing. Write two sentences describing clothing.

We have it in (colors) use two or three colors that make sense.
These socks cost seven dollars. Estos calcetines cuestan siete dólares.
We have them in white and grey. Los tenemos en blanco y gris. (35 min - 40)
Friday, April 21, 2006; Day 3
TLW be able to say what they are wearing, including colors. TLW use store and shopping vocabulary.
1) Take vocabulary quiz 6-1, 6-2. (15 min - 45)
2) Using OT 33-34, go through next vocabulary. Include words panaderia, pasteleria, libreria, farmacia, mercado(super) (20 min - 1:05)
3) Complete the vocabulary crucigrama. (15 min – 1:20)
5) Assign PW 6-3; 6-4
Monday April 24, 2006; Day 4
TLW be able to say what they are wearing, including colors. TLW use store and shopping vocabulary.
1) On projector, do the “Fashion Show” Powerpoint. Do quiz corrections. (25 min)
2) Have students ask each other where they bought specific articles of clothing. Compare, then trade and grade PW 6-3, 6-4. (15 min - 40)
3) do activities 10 & 11 p. 192. I do estudiante A then have students ask each other with different articles of clothing. Then have students ask each other for act. 13. (15 min - 55)
4) Hand out the “Comprensión de lectura” worksheet. Have students read the story and answer the questions. For part II, they do not need a complete sentence. They must also do the six-frame cartoon in part III.
Tuesday, April 25, 2006; Day 5
TLW use store and shopping vocabulary. TLW use the correct demonstrative adjectives in sentences.
1) On OT, students fill in the blank to answer questions. (part B. of quiz 6-4) (5 min)
2) Take quiz 6-3, 6-4 (15 min - 20)
3) Have demonstrative adjectives on board:
this these
este vestido estos zapatos
esta camisa estas blusas
that those
ese suéter esos calcetines
esa chaqueta esas faldas
When done with quiz, students need to use above chart to come up with two rules for using the demonstrative adjective. 1. Goes in front of the noun., 2. Agrees in gender and number to the noun its describing.
Way to remember which to use: “This and these have “t’s” that and those don’t”

4) use dry erase boards to practice. use current vocabulary. (20 min - 55)
5) Complete and trade and grade PW 6-6. (15 min - 1:10)
Wednesday, April 26, 2006; Day 6
TLW be able to use the correct d.o.p. in the correct place in a sentence.
1) Working on one set of sentences at a time, discuss the D.O.P. sentences on OT. Discuss rules then decide which d.o.p. should be used for the following nouns: (15 min)

2) With partner, complete act. 5 p. 205-6. (10 min - 25)
3) do the d.o.p. oral activity. Each student gets a card. they ask others what they have then write on worksheet who has what item.
¿Quién tiene la mochila? Alicia la tiene. (15 min - 40)
4) Create five sentences stating that you want to buy certain clothing items.
Quiero comprar (dem. adj.) (clothing.)
Quiero comprar esta camisa.
Students have five minutes to write sentences on scrap paper. Then compare with partner, chose 8 different sentences. Have another five minutes to write sentences on notebook paper. Leave spaces between each sentence. Each person must write. Hand sentences in.
I give sentences to another student who must then reply to the statements that the person should buy it or that the person doesn’t need it.

5) Assign PW 6-7, 6-8.
Thursday, April 27, 2006; Day 7
TLW use and correctly place the direct object pronouns. TLW use the correct demonstrative adjectives in sentences.
1) Compare, then trade and grade PW 6-7, 6-8. (15 min)
2) On OT: 1) Te gusta ____ vestido? (this)
2) ¿Vas a comprar _____ blusa? (that)
3) _____ calcetines son feos. (those)
4) _____ manzanas son viejas. (these)

3) Complete writing activity E & F. Then do the listening activity 6-4 a. (20 min - 30)
4) In groups of three, students do the communicative act. 6-3 (15 min - 45)
5) Translate sentences from the OT. (20 min - 1:05)
6) Complete quiz 6-6, 6-7 (d.o.p. and dem. adj.)
Friday, April 28, 2006; Day 8
TLW be able to use demonstrative adjectives and direct object pronouns correctly in sentences. TLW understand celebrations of Christmas in Spain and Mexico.
1) Translate sentences from OT: (10min)
1) How much did you pay for that shirt...
2) Quiz Corrections for 6-6, 6-7 (15 min - 25)
3) Complete Christmas extra credit. They need to answer questions, and then hand in papers face down on OT. This is a race! (20 min)
4) Watch Christmas in Spain video. (30 min - 50)
5) Do the Chapter 6 Test Review.
Monday, May 1, 2006
1) Go through the Chapter 6 Test Review.
2) Take the Chapter 6 Test.
3) Explain final exam and place students with partners to get started.
