Friday, February 10, 2006; Day 1

TLW be able to talk about activities.

 

1) Ask ¿Cómo se dice? with vocab. (5 min)

2) Take Chapter 2 test. (30 min - 35)

3) When done with test, go through vocabulary using OT 16-17, and list of page 91. Flash cards are due on Friday. (20 min - 55)

4) Students find die partner and with a die partner, do act 1 and 2 pages p. 92. Complete act. 3 p. 93 with partner. (25 min - 1:20)

5) Assign PW 3-1, 3-2

 

Monday, February 13, 2006; Day 2

TLW be able to talk about activities and places to go.

 

1) ¿Cómo se dice?

2) Compare PW 3-1, 3-2, then trade and grade. (10 min - 25)

3) Complete the Mis Pasatiempos worksheet with partner.

4) Have students write questions asking others when and with whom they go to three different places.

      ex. ¿Con quién vas al parque? ¿Cuándo..?

      They ask five different people their questions. Keep track of the answers. Write out sentences giving the answers.

      ex. Carmen va al parque con Juan los sabados.

      (35 min - 60)

5) Do the pronunciation activities for chapters 1 and 3.

 

Tuesday, February 14, 2006; Day 3

TLW talk about activities and feelings.

 

1) Translate: (15 min) (check flash cards)

      1) On Saturday, I´m going to the amusement park.

      2) I like to go to the pool on the weekends.

      3) Generally, I go to the beach in the summer.

      4) Do you like to go to the mall?

      5) I like to go to the park after school with my friend.

2) Take quiz 3-1, 3-2 (20 min - 35)

3) Go through next vocabulary. Flash are cards due Monday. (35 min - 1:10)

4) On board have students unscramble these words: ocgiomn - conmigo; ddnaae - de nada

      have students choose five vocabulary words to scramble, don’t let others see.

      trade papers with others, do not give paper back to original owner. Everyone must do 15 different words. The first three people to 15 receive five extra credit points. (20 min)

 


Wednesday, February 15, 2006; Day 4

TLW be able to use activity vocabulary in a sentence.

 

1) Students translate: 1) What do you like to do in the summer?

      (15 min)    2) I like to go to the pool in the morning and the mall in the afternoon.

            3) I’m going to the beach on Saturday.

            4) On Tuesday, I’m going to the park.

            5) generally, you go the gym in the winter.

2) do quiz corrections. (15 min - 30)

3) With partner, complete act 8, 9, 10 p. 96-7. do each section, outloud. (20 min - 50)

4) Interview 4 people about what sports/activities they like to do, find out when they like to do them. (30 min - 1:20)

5) Assign PW 3-3, 3-4.

 

Thursday, February 16, 2006; Day 5 (12:15 dismissal)

TLW use activity vocabulary in sentences.

 

1) compare, then trade and grade PW 3-3, 3-4 Check FC while they compare. (15 min)

2) do writing activities D & E p. 19 (15 min - 30)

3) do audio activities 3-1, 3-2. (15 min -45)

4) Watch entire video, fill in workbook pages. (25 min - 1:10)

5) Take vocab quiz 3-3, 3-4. (20 min)

 

Monday, February 20, 2006; Day 6

TLW use the correct form of the verb ir in a sentence. TLW be able to state what s/he is “going to do.”

 

1) Translate: (15 min) 1) Can you go to the mall with me?

            2) I’m sorry, but I can’t go.

            3) Do you want to study Spanish with me?

            4) Yes, I want to study with you.

            5) would you like to play tennis with me?

2) Correct quizzes. (15 min - 30)

3) When done with quizzes, students start translating from Spanish: (20 min - 50)

            1) Yo voy al gimnasio los lunes.

            2) Armando y Gloria van al cine hoy.

            3) ¿Adónde vas tú?

            4) Luisa va a la fiesta conmigo.

            5) Nosotros no vamos a escuela hoy.

      Then, on their own, students need to fill in the conjugation chart for the verb ir.

4) Hand out dry erase boards, practice forms of ir about 15 times. (15 min - 1:05)

5) Have every student come up with an answer to ¿Qué te gustaria hacer mañana?

      Then, ask question ¿Qué vas a hacer mañana? have students decide what it means, then illustrate to them out to answer question. Go through using ir + a + inf. with students. Will need to remend them what the infinitive of a verb is. (10 min - 1:15)

6) Do act 2 p. 106 with partner, then with entire group. (10 min - 1:25)

7) Assign PW 3-5, 3-6 p. 37-8.

 

 

Tuesday, February 21, 2006; Day 7

TLW be able to use the correct form of the verb ir in a sentence. TLW be able to state what s/he is “going to do.”

 

1) compare, then trade and grade PW 3-5, 3-6 p. 37-8. (15 min)

2) Have students state three things that they are going to do this week.

      ex. El viernes voy a ir al cine.       

      As students write, move around room to check sentences. Have a couple of students state their sentences.        

      then, convert sentences to questions asking if you want to ... with me.

      ex. ¿Quieres ir al cine conmigo el viernes?

      Call on two students to start then go around room until all students have asked and answered.

      (30 min - 45)

3) On board, go through using con. (10 min - 55)

      Ask ¿Cómo se dice?          with: con         with us: con nosotros

                        with me: conmigo        with Clara: con Clara

                        with you: contigo        with her: con ella

                        with you (form): con Ud.       with them: con ellos   

4) do parts 4 and 5 p. 107 with die partner. (15 min - 1:10)

5) Assign 6 pictures. Must use all forms of ir At least three must have ir + a + inf. and at least three must use con.

 

Wednesday, February 22, 2006; Day 8

 

TLW be able to use the verb ir in a sentence and say what they are going to do using ir + a + inf.

TLW be able to conjugate the verb estar.

 

1) Have students say what they are going to do this weekend. Include who is going with them. Then conjugate the verb ir. (5 min)

2) Take quiz 3-5, 6, 7. (25 min - 30)

3) When done with quiz, put verb conjugation chart on the board with the verb estar - to be. Have students copy into their notes. When all students are done with their quizzes, have a studetn give the yo form of the verb. Write it in the chart. The rest of the forms are just like regular -ar verbs. On you own, conjugate the rest of the forms. Then go through with the class, add accent marks. (10 min - 40)

4) In four teams, have verb board races. (15 min - 55)

5) On own, do PW 3-8 and discuss. Then do PW 3-9 with partner. Pages 40-1.(25 min - 1:20

6) Go through adjectives and other words to use with estar.

7) Assign estar FITB worksheet.

 

 


Thursday, February 23, 2006; Day 9

TLW be able to conjugate the verb estar.

 

1) Conjugate ir, do ¿Como se dice? with ir. (5 min)

2) do quiz corrections on quiz 3-5, 6, 7 (15 min - 20)

3) Compare and trade and grade estar FITB wkst. (10 min - 30)

4) With partner, complete text act. #6 and 7 p. 108. (15 min - 45)

5) give students subject on OT and have student create a sentence using that subject and estar. Partners proofread, then some one says out loud. (10 min - 55)

6) then, have students create 5 sentences that use a different form of estar. Compare with and proofread parner’s sentences. Then, pair-share and as a group come up with 10 good sentences using each form twice. Write 10 sent. on OT, leaving space instead of a verb.

      Complete at least 1 on the the OP.

7) Assign estar wkst #2.

 

Friday, February 24, 2006; Day 10

TLW be able to conjugate the verb estar

 

1) Translate sentences on OT.

2) Compare, then trade and grade wkst.

3) Take estar quiz. (25 min - 45)

4) Begin station reveiw.

 

Monday, February 27, 2006; Day 11

Conjugation of estar, review for the chapter 3 test.
