General Information about the SCHS Alumni
The Schuyler Central High School Foundation was established in 1997 to support and enrich the educational programs offered by Schuyler Central High School.
Schuyler Central High School has developed a reputation for excellence in education. The school district continues to strive to provide the best educational opportunities for the students of this school district.
As you are aware, public schools are finding it increasingly difficult to expand and enrich the programs offered by the school due to shrinking traditional tax sources. Our school foundation will allow a way for individuals, groups and businesses to help support their school through tax deductible contributions. The Schuyler Central High School Foundation is a legally incorporated, non-profit organization that has been established in accordance with existing state and federal tax laws. The foundation does not receive tax dollars and the gifts it does receive do not replace tax dollars collected for the operation of the school.
The Schuyler Central Board of Education has appointed a seven-member board of Directors for the Foundation which is compromised of three members from the community of Schuyler, three members from the Board of Education and the high school superintendent, Dr. Robert Brandt. The members of the Board of Directors do not receive any financial compensation for their service.
The monies donated to the Schuyler Central High School Foundation, as stated in the Articles of Incorporation, are to be used "for the benefit of or to carry out the purposes of the School District of Schuyler Central High School." Foundation funds will be used to benefit the students who are attending or have attended Schuyler Central High School.
The Schuyler Central High School Foundation Board of Directors invites you to join us in this important and exciting endeavor. Gifts or bequests to the Foundation can be a lasting tribute to a loved one, a part of estate planning or simply a way to say "thanks" to the school that provided you with your education. All gifts are tax deductible.
All gifts, large or small, are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions regarding the Foundation, feel free to call any Board of Directors member or the high school superintendent.
The Board of Directors has established six separate funds to benefit a particular are of Schuyler Central High School in addition to the general fund. Specific funds have been created for scholarship, academics, vocation, facility improvement, arts, and athletics. In addition to a donation to the general fund or any of the specific fund, scholarships may be established, subjects to the approval of the Board of Directors, in amounts of $3,000.00 or larger. Specific scholarship funds would allow a donor to name the fund and to generally provide criteria to be followed by the Board of Directors when awarding the scholarship.
