What is the National Honor Society About? Each member is required to do 2 service projects. These services could be anything from community service to school services to visiting the elderly. They also donate a 200 dollar scholarship to one senior member. They also help pick the students of the month and at the end of the year they help with the students of the year. They help with sports concessions and participate in the adopt a highway program. They have fundraisers and work with SPINA BIFIDA.
Future projects Next year the National Honor Society plans to have a tutoring program for students that need help in certain areas. They will also have a mentoring program for freshman and other students that feel out of place when they get to the high school.
NHS Requirements To be in the National Honor Society you need a 93% grade point average. You also need to have 3 different strengths such as leadership, services, and character. They also need to fill out a three page application that will be looked over by faculty members who will decide wether you will be accepted into the NHS.
